Star Trac Treadmills
Star Trac Treadmills are
primarily used in health clubs and gyms
everywhere. The company also manufactures other fitness equipment but
the user focused treadmill is the jewel in their crown.
Star Trac Fitness is a
company dedicated to the advancement of fitness equipment. Unlike other
manufacturers of treadmills, Star Trac has focused on the industrial
side of the market.
A Star Trac treadmill is a standard treadmill like most of the others
on the market. The difference is that a lot of thought and energy goes
into building a quality machine that will last for a very long time. Their treadmills are very
expensive compare to other brands, prices range from $4000 to
$6700.
The basic treadmill has the moving foot belt, hand rails for user
safety and a console packed with vital features. Some models even
include fans, charging ports for electronic devices like iPods and a
personal viewing screen much like a TV screen.
As proof of their dedication to quality, the manufacturing center is a
100,000 square foot facility in Irvine, California. The
facility was built in 1997. Of the 100,000 square feet of space, 6640
of it is dedicated to R&D laboratories and 18,000
square feet are for administrative and executive offices.
The remainder is manufacturing including on site fabrication shops,
welding shops and electronic assembly areas. Shipping and sales offices
are in a completely separate building a couple of miles away.
Star Trac has several models of treadmills available. All are a bit
“high end” and start with the Star Trac Sport at
around $3999. Their all inclusive model, the Star Trac Elite, lists at
almost $6700.
They are trying to break into the home treadmill market, though. These
models offer great features for the price and I was hard pressed to
find negative feedback about their products. In fact, I
couldn’t find any negative reviews of Star Trac products.
Perhaps this is due to the outstanding warranty offered by Star Trac.
The warranty covers all electrical parts, mechanical parts and wear
items for 10 years. The
frame is warranted for LIFETIME and labor is warranted for 3 years.
This is an outstanding offer for machinery of this nature and is
virtually unmatched in the industry.
As stated earlier, negative reports on these machines was non-existent.
Couldn’t find one unhappy customer or one reviewer with
negative remarks. So if there was anything to change or say that Star
Trac needed to improve on, it would be a more affordable home treadmill.
The casual treadmill user at home isn’t going to shell out
almost $4000 for a bottom of the line model treadmill. Granted the
quality is there, but who has that kind of cash to invest?
With all that warehouse space dedicated to research and development,
this should be a small feat for Star Trac treadmills. This writer would
say that if Star Trac was able to provide a quality home model
treadmill for around $1500, they would probably crush the bulk of
competition.
Final Word
Star Trac treadmills are already trusted in clubs and gyms, since their
treadmills are high quality. The average home exerciser will benefit
the high quality star trac provides, since cost is very high it will
only make sense if you were considering $4000 to $6000 home
treadmill.
